I took a short trip to Anza Borrego State Park on March 14-16th to commune with the wildflowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that “…the earth laughs in flowers,” and right now, the Anza Borrego desert is filled with laughter. I spent a night in Indio, since I couldn’t afford any of the places in Anza Borrego, and then ventured a little north, but bloom-wise, Anza Borrego was the place to be. I’d only been here once, in 2015, when there were also many wildflowers blooming, and my housemate and I serendipitously discovered the Galeta Meadows sculptures, and this trip, I revisited a couple of my favorites. They’re on private land, but the owner is generous enough to allow the public to visit.

I hope your week will be filled with beauty and laughter and surprising generosity.
